INTRODUCING the 1st annual VCPE Law & Private Schools Guide and Hot Topic Seminar. VCPE is so excited to debut this seminar, which we will host annually in coordination with the release of the law guide.

This year’s hot topic will be the fingerprint background check process. Douglas Burtch and Barry Gabay of Burtch Law LLC will spend the first hour of our 2018 seminar reviewing what your school must do to comply with requirements of the fingerprint background check laws for private schools in Virginia, according to the law.

The second hour of this seminar will be a review of the 2018-2019 Virginia Law & Private Schools Guide, conducted by VCPE’s Executive Director, Grace Creasey. During this hour Grace will review the important highlights of the new guide, while emphasizing long-standing topics in the guide that are worthy of constant consideration as you operate private schools in Virginia.

The 2018-2019 guide was completely redesigned and entirely legally reviewed, which resulted in the guide being published later than normal. Moving forward, we expect the guide to be published in late July and this seminar to occur in the mid-August timeframe.

Advanced registration is open from October 3, 2018 through November 5, 2018. Advanced registrations must be paid online. After November 5, 2018, the registration fee will increase to $65.
