The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the annual technical assistance academy for federal program coordinators and other key instructional staff supporting programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).
The academy will be held at two regional locations. It has been extended this year in order to showcase promising practices. Attendance according to the regional location of the school division is strongly encouraged.
The afternoon of Day 1 will begin with a new coordinators’ session from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; and Title III, Part A. These sessions have been designed specifically for coordinators with three years or less experience, and attendance will be limited to that group. The full academy will begin with a general session at 8 a.m. on Day 2, and will continue through noon on Day 3.
If you have questions regarding the academy, please contact Marsha Granderson, Education Specialist, at Marsha.Granderson@doe.virginia.gov or 804-786-1993
