Basic Membership Requirements
Associations, corporations, foundations or other organizations in Virginia are eligible for membership in VCPE if they:
- Affiliate with, operate, or represent private schools, other than colleges and universities,
- Subscribe to a policy of admission of students without regard to race, color, or national origin; and
- Operate not for profit and exclusively for charitable, scientific, or educational purposes.
Applicants for membership to VCPE must submit a (documents may be submitted by email to office@vcpe.org)
- Membership Application (please email office@vcpe.org for membership application)
- Copy of the association’s action or resolution requesting membership in VCPE,
- Copies of original documents verifying that the requirements of VCPE membership outlined above are adequately addressed by the organization, and
- Check made payable to VCPE for a nonrefundable application fee of $500 (accrediting member) or $300 (non-accrediting member), mailed to the address below.
The Membership Application serves as an assurance that it is the association’s intention, upon being granted approval as a member of VCPE by 3/4 vote of the Members of the Board of Directors, to agree to the following:
- Completion and return of the annual report in a timely manner;
- Inclusion of the names of schools dropped or added during the year of the annual report, as requested;
- Immediate notification to the VCPE office of the accreditation of a new school(s), or loss of accreditation of a current school(s) (This item is required only of associations with approval for accrediting processes.);
- Regular representation at VCPE meetings; and
- Timely payment of annual VCPE dues.
