VCPE encourages all private schools to explore the possibility of state recognized accreditation through VCPE and a VCPE approved accrediting association.

Please be aware that VCPE does NOT recognize or accredit supplemental service schools, homeschool curricula, or individual courses.

Verification of a private school’s accreditation status MUST be requested directly from VCPE. A school’s membership, affiliation, or accreditation with a VCPE approved accrediting association does not guarantee the school is recognized as an accredited private school.

Not all schools associated with the VCPE approved accrediting associations are VCPE approved accredited private schools. Schools are solely responsible for maintaining accreditation and compliance with all accreditation standards and State and Federal Laws. VCPE does not guarantee the continued accreditation of a school.
